PrEP Learning Collaborative Hub
The PrEP Learning Collaborative brings together clinicians, navigators, DIS and other health workers, program leaders, and state and local health department staff to focus on the latest advances in PrEP and PEP and to ensure access to HIV prevention for all people. We offer timely updates, training and information sessions, interactive panel discussions and idea exchanges, and direct technical assistance.

Tailoring PrEP Messaging and Outreach to Latino/Hispanic Communities

HIV rates and PrEP uptake vary across communities, making it important to understand what messaging and outreach approaches work best for the people we hope to reach. In this session, we will continue our exploration of ways to tailor PrEP outreach and HIV risk-reduction education to better meet the needs of different communities. Our special guests include Dr. Ronald Brooks, who conducts HIV research in the Department of Family Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Brooks will share findings from his community-participatory research on recommendations for promoting injectable PrEP among Latino men who have sex with men (MSM). We’ll also hear from Bienestar Human Services, a key partner in Dr. Brooks’ research, whose decades of experience working with and reaching Latino communities in Los Angeles offer valuable, real-world insights into effective outreach.
