In this timely STI expert hour, Dr. Oliver Bacon and Christopher Ruiz from San Francisco City Clinic will discuss injectable PrEP for HIV – including the newly adopted twice-yearly option, lenacapavir. Come learn about current injectable PrEP options, the evidence-base behind them, and real-world implementation considerations! 

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Summarize dosing, efficacy, and safety data for currently-available injectable PrEP options.
  • List at least two barrier and facilitators of long-acting PrEP implementation in clinical practice.
  • Analyze similarities and differences between lenacapvir and cabotegravir for HIV PrEP with the goal of optimizing provider counseling and patient choice.
